Glamorous glitter paint painting of a giant polar bear, featuring a penguin and a penguins face, is in limbo at the City of Montreal
Posted May 02, 2019 08:30:04 The City of Winnipeg is hoping to have its own glitter paint artwork in the works soon.
“We’re really excited about that,” said Mayor Naheed Nenshi in a statement to CBC News.
“If we can get the City to sign on, it would be a fantastic opportunity to show the world what Winnipeg is all about.”
The artist, who will be paid by the City, will have the opportunity to paint his creations and submit them for a vote.
If the artwork does go ahead, it will be installed on the north wall of Winnipeg City Hall.
“This is an incredible opportunity to work on something that celebrates Winnipeg and its citizens,” Nenshis spokesperson Andrea Mott said.
“And that’s what we’re really looking forward to.”
Nensheis artwork was part of a larger display of artwork at the Winnipeg Art Gallery last fall.
He said he will be moving on to other projects and hopes to be back at work in the next few weeks.
“I’m looking forward [to] moving on, but I can’t wait to get back to work,” he said.
